The Cocktail

There is much speculation as to the invention of the traditional mixed drink. Some say the origins are in England yet others point to America. Nevertheless, most historians agree that to be called a cocktail there is a mixture of ingredients that need to be present. These ingredients are sugar, water, bitters, other flavoring ingredients and alcohol.

During Prohibition alcoholic beverages were illegal. The good news was that you were still able to consume cocktails only illegally in places called speakeasies. With time cocktails began to slowly lose their popularity, until the 2000s when a cultural renaissance of the cocktail began forming called mixology.

Please take a moment and browse our full line of commercial underbar, refrigeration, food service and mixology equipment. Utilized by many skilled mixologist and bartenders in the art of producing fine cocktails.

Periodically, we will post cocktails and their ingredients for the thirsty ones out there.

Cheers!
